Book: Murder at Vinland by Alyssa Maxwell
Time: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
In “Murder at Vinland,” set in August 1901, readers join protagonist Emma at a Rhode Island Audubon Society fundraiser at Vinland, a Viking-inspired seaside home owned by her relative, Florence Vanderbilt Twombly. With guest of honor Edith Roosevelt, wife of Vice President Theodore Roosevelt, Emma notices intriguing contrasts between the setting’s warrior-themed décor and the gentle advocacy for bird protection. The atmosphere quickly shifts from genteel to mysterious.
Museum Reads is free for Museum Members and $5 for non-members. Registration is required to receive updates and virtual attendance details. For last-minute virtual participation, please contact the front desk at 401-848-8200.
