The Attacca Quartet makes its Newport debut at The Breakers on July 19, 2025, beginning at 8:00 PM. Celebrated for melding impeccable classical technique with a flair for contemporary repertoire, the ensemble will present beloved works from the traditional string-quartet canon alongside the U.S. premiere of a new piece by Pulitzer Prize- and GRAMMY-winning composer David Lang, co-commissioned by Newport Classical.
Praised by The Washington Post for displaying a level of mastery “scarce enough in quartets that have played together for decades,” Attacca has collaborated with artists ranging from Caroline Shaw to Billie Eilish and contributed to Ken Burns’ upcoming Leonardo da Vinci documentary.
