Safe Harbor Race Weekend returns Aug 8–10 with racing each day from 10 AM to 6 PM and no charge for spectators. The action unfolds at three Rhode Island marinas: Safe Harbor Newport Shipyard at 1 Washington St in Newport, Safe Harbor New England Boatworks at 1 Lagoon Rd in Portsmouth, and Safe Harbor Jamestown Boatyard at 60 Dumpling Dr in Jamestown. Newport Shipyard sits among downtown’s historic homes and shops, offering captains personalized service in a harbor favored by major yachting events. New England Boatworks pairs a deep tradition of building round-the-world racers and America’s Cup contenders with full shoreside amenities and a family friendly atmosphere. Jamestown Boatyard rests below scenic granite bluffs on the East Passage, placing Block Island, Cape Cod, and Newport Harbor within easy reach while hosting summer cookouts, music festivals, and regattas.
Sailors with mono- and multihull vessels 30 ft or longer are invited to join the regatta, which will again feature multiple classes, including a Superyacht division. The schedule begins Aug 7 with check-in at assigned host marinas, followed by racing and a coastal dinner at New England Boatworks on Aug 8, racing and the Talk of the Town crew party at Newport Shipyard on Aug 9, and a final day of competition capped by an awards ceremony on Aug 10.
