6th Annual Tacos & Tequila

The Surf Club’s flagship culinary event pairs premium Patrón Collection tequilas with a variety of tacos, guacamole, and dessert in a guided tasting format.

22nd Annual Spring Festival

Newport Vineyards celebrates spring with two afternoon sessions of wine and beer tastings, seasonal contests, and family-friendly lawn games.

  • Includes: Souvenir vineyard-logo tasting glass; five pours from wine & beer bars; food & extra beverages available for purchase

Kentucky Derby Viewing Party at Hotel Viking

A relaxed gathering to watch the Kentucky Derby live on big screens in the Hotel Viking, complete with mint juleps, Derby-inspired cocktails, and light hors d’oeuvres.

  • When: Saturday, May 3 | Party starts at 5:00 PM; race broadcast begins ~6:45 PM

Kentucky Derby Party at The Vanderbilt

Atlantic Super Regional Rugby Tournament

Fort Adams hosts NERFU’s regional championship featuring top New England rugby teams vying for a national berth.

  • Highlight Match: Newport Rugby vs. South Shore at 5:00 PM on May 3
  • Amenities: On-site concessions; no outside alcohol permitted

Veteran Car Tour 2025

Audrain Motorsport’s celebration of brass-era motoring features a car parade at Fort Adams followed by a scenic Newport-Bristol-Newport drive.

  • When: Starts Saturday, May 3 at 7:00 AM; concludes Sunday, May 4 at 5:00 PM
  • Entry Fee: $950 per car (covers two people; includes Sunday breakfast & lunch)
  • Eligible Vehicles: Brass-era models built between 1895 and 1918

40th Aquidneck Island National Police Parade

An annual procession honoring law enforcement’s service and sacrifice, featuring judged cruiser, uniform, and honor guard contingents, concluding in Washington Square.

  • When: Sunday, May 4 at 11:50 AM
  • Route: Assembly at 317 West Main Road → Broadway → Washington Square reviewing stand
  • Ceremony: Opening ceremony; judging for best cruiser, best uniform, and best honor guard; Grand Marshal Robert E. Kenahan; tribute to three New England officers killed in 2024
